After graduating from the University of Missouri
at Rolla with a BS in Mechanical Engineering
in 1965, Bob started his engineering career
with Sun Oil Company in Wichita, Kansas. He
was involved in the design and operation of
all types of piping configurations and systems.
In 1967, he joined Laclede Gas Company in
St. Louis, Missouri as a design engineer and
later became Laclede’s senior maintenance
and corrosion engineer. He has provided his
talents to distribution and high pressure
piping design and replacement, leak survey,
liquid petroleum facilities, and all phases
of corrosion control while employed at Laclede.
In 1972, Bob left Laclede to join Hospital
Building and Equipment Company (HBE) of St.
Louis, where he was involved in the design
and installation of building systems and site
utilities. He joined McMullin and Associates
in 1975, and become Vice President in 1983.
He formed Energy Consulting, Inc. in 1992
from his interests in McMullin and Associates,
Inc. He has been involved in a wide variety
of projects concerning HVAC, electrical, plumbing,
energy studies and emergency generator projects.
Bob has specialized in municipal gas utilities
and has been involved in the design and construction
of a number of new and replacement gas distribution
and transmission projects, cathodic protection
systems (impressed current and sacrificial),
construction inspection, propane air facilities,
planning and budgeting, cost studies, materials
procurement, load forecasting, and rate studies;
He has provided energy studies for institutional,
municipal buildings, and many other commercial
and industrial clients.
In 1998, E.C.I. purchased Loren C. Kolditz
Engineering Company (LCK) in New Athens, Illinois.
Presently Bob is city gas engineer for a number
of different municipal gas utilities in Missouri
and Illinois, some of which he has been involved
with for over 25 years. He has also provided
pipeline construction training and testing
for many of the municipal utility personnel
and professional consulting services for various
government agencies, institutions, and industrial
customers. He is a Registered Professional
Engineer, licensed to practice in the States
of Missouri and Illinois, and a Registered
Corrosion Specialist, P, a member of the National
Society of Professional Engineers, Illinois
Society of Professional Engineers and the
National Association of Corrosion Engineers.
In June of 2004 E.C.I. merged with USDI, thereby
providing greater diversity of natural gas
pipeline services to all or clients.
Bob manages gas purchases for municipal gas
utilities, industrial and various hospitals
in the Missouri and Illinois area and has
been involved in gas purchasing since 1986
with present annual sales of more than 2 BCF.
Bob enjoys racquetball, skiing, water sports
and golf when he is not working.
